Strike 1, only 2 left.

I'm sure we all remember the horrible, deafening performance by Roseanne Barr at a 1990 SanDiego Baseball game. After hearing a tape of Roseanne Barr, then President George Bush (Sr.) called it "disgusting" and "a disgrace."

Friends it seems her successor is none other than the one, the only, Hillary Clinton.

Yes folks, it's true, the mic picked it up, and we did too. Take a look for yourself:

Now granted, she wasn't trying to butcher it like Roseanne Barr did, but it sure is bad!

Political Correctness = The Death of Principle

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13TH, 2006, 11:21:54PM:

As I sit here in my White Leather armchair with my beautiful MacBook, I was thinking of something interesting... oh, and yes.... even at 11PM my "political mastermind" (yeah right) is still whirring...

What is Politically Correct?? Politically Correct is the death of Principle, and when Principle dies, we have nothing. No Freedom of speech, no freedom of Religion, no freedom of Press. All because we are to bent on "not offending" someone. Yes, we are supposed to respect the opinions and viewpoint of others, especially as Christians, but since when is it so bad to talk about Jesus, or talk about my opinions on abortion, gay marriage, and other issues plaguing our culture? I'm sorry if you are offended, but I will not stop believing what I believe, speaking what I think and telling you when my Faith that I hold so dear says you're wrong. I will do it in Love, but with Love comes Truth, and Truth is not always the most enjoyable aspect of life.

If you don't like my President, George W. Bush, I don't care. The majority elected him, so please, do us all a favor and shut up. Show some respect.

Please, allow me to base my thoughts, my actions, the words I speak and the things I fight for off of my Faith. Do not try to silence me.

Like I said, Political Correctness = The Death of Principle. The Death of Principle = The end of freedom. The End of Freedom = The End of a Nation.

Days To Be Remembered...

Well, now that Bertha isn't around to serve me strangely abnormal amounts of ham I guess I can relax.

This week of November 3rd through 8th will forever go down in Ohio's history. In fact, the entire past 6 months will go into the annals of Ohio History. Why?? Because we pulled off the greatest grassroots effort in the country of all time over the past 6 months.

It all started when the Ohio Gubernatorial race started brewing during a very heated primary. Who would control the Ohio Gubernatorial seat?? Through some random course of providential events our family attained the phone number for the local County Chair-people for the Blackwell Campaign. Almost immediately Mom was put on the County Steering Committee for the campaign. I was a little more skeptical, but after a short amount of time and many discussions I was coaxed into working on the county campaign. Little did I know that it was the start of one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Two weeks before the Primary election we gathered our GenJ club and campaigned for a day. We hit all of Mount Vernon with a huge door-to-door effort. Nearly 40 kids that day showed up that day. Blackwell swept the state in the primary election on May 2nd, 2006. Then, it ended. For the months of June and July the campaign was put on hold for those of us who were at the County level of it all.

June went by slowly. July came and sent me to Michigan, then to be the only person to man the GOP Booth at the County Fair, then August came and sent me to Michigan, and then to Colorado. During the trip to Michigan I not only met two of the best friends anyone could have, but I also received a call from Mom. She said that I had been appointed a member of the steering committee, office manager for the Knox County GOP (as soon as we could secure an office) and then "elected" the Mount Vernon Grassroots Campaign Coordinator (I think that is what it was). All I remembered thinking was "Great! Now they've sucked me into yet another time consuming task." Over the next months I would realize how lucky I was to be offered a position like that. I had a break of 3 days between Michigan and Colorado. Almost as soon as I had gotten off of the plane and into the car I got a call telling me that they needed me to get people to man the Blackwell for Governor booth at the annual Dan Emmet Festival for the next three days. I left packing my bags for Colorado to Mom, and I started working the booth Friday and Saturday.

Sunday came and I was off to Colorado. I went to GenJ camp and met more awesome friends! (Joey, the Girl I will probably marry someday, Liv, Liz and Sarah) So, I came home and got off of the plane again only to get another call. The County Campaign had finally secured an office. The day after I got home I went to the new location and started helping clean it up and getting it ready for the next months of campaigning. The last half of August, and the entirety of the months of September, October and the first week of November I was in the office every day but Sunday. Elected officials would come in to talk, local supporters would come in and get signs and literature, and the occasional ticked off Democrat would stop in too.

Then, we started the phone bank up. The last week of August I was appointed Knox County Phone Bank Coordinator. We were sent five cell phones from the ORP, we were brought call lists and notebooks to keep track of the call numbers. Knox County immediately jumped onto the phones and became the top County in the state for call totals. We were operating at 200%.

Then, we got a call from the top office in Columbus to tell us that the man himself, Ken Blackwell, was coming to town to visit us. We called everyone we knew, and then we got another call telling us that the event was canceled. Ken was going to be at an event in Fredericktown, and was going to swing by on his way home to Cincinnati. Ken was tired, and needed to go home. After lobbying for the event to be put back on, we were finally given word that he was coming. People started showing up at about 5:45 on Thursday, September 20th. The Campaign expected a group of about twenty people. By the time Ken arrived there were just over 100 people at the office awaiting his arrival. He gave a fiery speech, he rallied the troops.

That night I met Brian Osborne, the Central Ohio Field Rep. for the campaign and Shane Gunnoe, the Central Ohio Field Rep. for the Ohio Republican Party. After that night the emails started pouring in. With only about a month to go we were getting nervous.......

We were getting nervous because polls showed us that we were down. But, we kept pressing on. I was blessed to have a great "side kick" in Slick_Tommy over the next few months. He came in, made calls, and more calls, and instantly shot himself to being the top caller in the state. Brian Osborne made frequent trips to our office to drop off random things, or just stop by to phone bank. Shane did the same. Both of them were huge helps in the process. Bill and Sue Kepko, the County Coordinators, were the greatest people I have ever worked with. The team of us worked hard. Through many calls, and different snags, we kept campaigning for the Godly man running for our Governor.

Then, I got word that through some other random and providential course of events, that the Ohio Student Action Team would be in little old Knox County Ohio. By this time, the campaign was confident in winning the race. Planning for a team of 40 kids began immediately. A hotel was reserved (the Russell Cooper House), and plans were finalized. Brian moved to Mount Vernon for the next 2 weeks of the campaign. We began working together with the Kepko's and planning for the final effort. We all attended about 6 rallies together, and kept working our hearts out in the office.

November 1st rolled around and I traveled to Bucyrus with Brian to see Ken at a rally. The speech was great, the crowd was fired up. It was odd, you generally hear people talk about political candidates remembering them, but then they say, "Oh, he was probably just pretending." But, with Ken it was different. I walked up to Ken after the rally, and he recognized me first. I said Hi, and he said "Good to see you buddy!" He proceeded to point out that I was wearing a Bush/Cheney 04' Fleece, and the hugged me quickly as he went off to see more supporters. I was amazed. The man running for Governor of the State of Ohio could have just brushed a 15 year old off and kept walking away, but he took the time to talk to me. Just that made me realize that he really was a genuine Christian man who didn't just pretend to know you. Then came November 3rd. After a short rally with Joy Padgett Dad and I headed off to CMH to pick up the PHC students coming in the lead the team. We all met and became friends instantly. That night we started cranking out the numbers, and proceeded to do so with a team of nearly 40 kids over the next 4 days.

We worked hard, 13-14 hour days. Finally, Election Day rolled around and we were all pumped. I expected a great outcome for Ohio. We arrived at the Victory Party in Columbus at about 8:30 and the kids dispersed into the room of press, and supporters there to support the candidates. Not 5 minutes after arriving I was approached by one of Ken's aids. She took me to the Kepko's and told us that Ken had just conceded. The numbers didn't look good, and rather than put up a fight, he had decided to concede. I was sick. We didn't tell the kids, but rather waited for Ken to come out and speak. When he finally came out, we all watched in dismay as he formally conceded.

One thing that he said which I will never forget was "I said on May 2nd when we swept the state in the primary 'to God be the Glory,' and as I stand before you now in the midst of a political setback, 'to God be the Glory.'"

We left, and went to dinner. We got home at 2:15AM. Now, after two days of tears and prayer, I can sit here and tell you that I will never forget the past 6 months of my life. We may have lost the battle, but we did not lose the war. Perseverance is now so much more important to me. God has a plan hidden in it all. We may not know what it is, but there is something bigger in store. As I told one of my friends in an email last night, maybe we lost the race so that Strickland’s heart would be softened, or maybe it is that we all realize what it means to fight for a cause and lose then have to rely on God, or maybe it was simpler. Maybe it was just to build and strengthen not only our spiritual lives, but also our friendships, and our resolve.

Whatever the purpose, I will not doubt God's will in the midst of a feeling of defeat. Resolve is what we must keep, and we must start planning for the future now.

I want to thank several people for keeping me in prayer during the campaign, and working alongside me to get everything done, and for making me what I am now.

Bill and Sue K., you gave me the opportunities that made this past 6 months so good, and you kept me busy. I will forever enjoy the memories of everything you did for me. It was great to work alongside and under you this entire time. Brian, you were great to work with, we shared laughs and snags together. Shane, you kept the competition up, and kept me supplied with whatever I needed into he office. Mom and Dad, you helped me along and gave me advice whenever I needed it. Allie, Emily, Jess and Robert, you kept me sane when I had a dilemma and prayed for me the whole time, I probably ran up your cell phone bills too. I could not have done any of this the past 6 months without all of you. Thank you. I was resistant at first, but now I look back and marvel at all the blessings I was given by God through this campaign.

Remember, it is all part of a bigger plan. God will strengthen all of us through hardships, and it will all work out for a greater purpose than we could ever understand. I know that God will continue to work through all of us in the coming years.

Thanks for Everything,

Tfehrman

Blackwell In Cincinnati

It was a good rally. If you watch closely, you see me onstage. When we arrived at the rally, the staffers saw us, and took us onstage to help pump up the crowd. It was an amazing rally. Sean Hannity and Bill Cunningham both spoke as well.

Tell your friends what type of leader this man is.

Blackwell Rally In Newark A Success

Today Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Ken Blackwell held a rally in Newark to boost supporters energy. About 75 attended the rally held on the town square this afternoon. Mr. Blackwell said of Challenger Ted Strickland that "Hope is not a plan...." and that just having hope is a "run-around Ohio, not a Turn Around Ohio." The Rally energized volunteers and helped kick the big push for his Campaign over the next 2 1/2 weeks before the election. At the Rally State Senator Jay Hottinger (now running for state Rep.) spoke of showing strong party support, and not giving up hope. The next 2 1/2 weeks of the election season will prove to be strong ones for Republicans all over the state, and will help lead them to victory!
